"The consumer confidence indicator thus reached its highest value in the entire observation period. For several months, consumer confidence has been at its highest level so far," the Statistics Office said on Monday.

The monthly boost was driven by a nine-point jump in the sub-index measuring consumers expectations about savings, and to a lesser extent more upbeat sentiments about the financial state of their households (+3 pp), jobs (+2 pp) and the state of the national economy (+ 1 pp).

The annual increase was due to much greater optimism about the state of the national economy (+15 pp), savings (+14 pp), jobs (+13 pp) as well as the financial state of the household (+3 pp).

The indicator of consumers' plans for home refurbishment rise by five percentage points compared with the previous quarter, rising by 12 points year-on-year.
