The event took place between 2nd and 9th April in the halls and conference rooms of Cankarjev dom. It was the third one so far. Before that, the telecommunications were presented along with other information technologies at the Infos exhibition. The mission of Teleinfos is to present what's new and to promote the use of technologies in the way visitors can evaluate them. In order to encourage development, education is also a significant element of the event. Many interesting lectures were given at the exhibition and were accessible to anyone who wished to attend them, as the Teleinfos was free to enter. The two major mobile operators and the biggest Internet provider made the most noticeable appearances. Another glamorous presentation was seen at RTV Slovenia who set up a virtual TV studio (see the picture). Visitors could act as TV personalities and then watch themselves on the web. In the area of upcoming technologies, Teleinfos promoted novelties were IP-VPN, WLANn and TV via ADSL. IP-VPN, a new communication protocol allows safe and reliable exchange of data (e.g. e-mails) using portable devices. WLAN is a wireless broadband technology taking the accessibility and connection to a higher level. Generally, Teleinfos presented a smooth and constant development in the world of Telecommunications with no dramatic breakthrough on the other hand.
