Online shopping on rise in Slovenia
According to the Statistics Office, the share of online buyers increased in all age categories, with the share among people aged between 25 and 34 being the highest, like in the previous period, at 70%.
Exactly 50% of the online buyers purchased clothing, sportswear or footwear, which is an increase of six percentage points compared to previous 12-month period. Household items followed with 38% and items for daily use with 31%.
In the observed period, 26% of online buyers purchased tickets for various events, 25% booked an accommodation, 14% purchased airline tickets, rented a car or purchased another travel-related service.
A majority of buyers (77%) made their online purchases through Slovenian providers. A majority of those who used foreign providers purchased goods.
Some 85% of the surveyed online shoppers had no difficulties with their purchases, while the complaints by those who had mostly relate to not receiving the purchased goods or service in time specified by the seller.
In the first quarter of this year, 35% of citizens aged between 16 and 74 or 532,440 persons made an online purchase; an increase of five percentage points compared to the same period last year. More than half made more than two purchases.
