Slovenia decided to set up a national stall at the Hong Kong Wine and Spirits Fair for the second time after last year's successful presentation at the event.

Slovenia's stall will feature wines by Klet Goriška Brda, Santomas, Edi Simčič, Ščurek, Vinakoper, Vinakras, Radgonske Gorice, Steyer in Kraljica. The nine wine makers come from all three of Slovenia's wine regions.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the products of Kocbek, a pumpkin seed oil maker, mead by Čebelarstvo Jere and natural ice cream by Stork.

Moreover, Slovenia's stall will also feature an interactive pavilion dedicated to the world of bees as part of the country's efforts to have 20 May declared World Honeybee Day by the UN General Assembly in December.

An exclusive tasting of Slovenian wines for wine traders, professional buyers and the media will be hosted on Thursday, the first day of the fair, which will run until Saturday.

Minister Židan will also meet the new leadership of Hong Kong, including chief executive Carrie Lam, to discuss economic cooperation, the ministry said. He will also deliver a lecture at Hang Seng College.

The visit is part of the government's activities to internationalise Slovenia's economy and comes as a confirmation of successful cooperation with China, the press release added.
