The number of tourist arrivals was up 14% and the number of nights increased by 11% from the same period last year.

Tourists from abroad generated almost 7.7 million nights, which is up 15% from the same period last year, while the number of arrivals increased by 17% to 3.2 million.

Meanwhile, the number of domestic nights increased by 4% to 3.6 million and the number of domestic arrivals was up 6% to 1.2 million.

In November alone, tour operators registered 240,000 arrivals, up 10% from November last year, and 579,000 nights, up 8%. The number of arrivals from tourists from abroad was up 15% to 152,000. They generated 16% more night stays at 336,000.

The key markets in November included Austria (19% of all nights of tourists from abroad), Italy (18%), Germany (8%) and Croatia (7%). The highest increase in stays was registered in German tourists (by 20%), followed by Italy (19%) and Croatia (18%).

Hotels were the most popular type of accommodation in November, as 77% of all stays were registered there, while spas were the most popular type of holiday destination (40%).
