About 55,000 visited musical events organised at several locations around the city centre, with the rest partying in the streets outside the main venues, the organisers have said.

The turnout was about the same as last year, no doubt thanks to welcoming temperatures that were considerably above freezing, and clear skies that offered a good view of the fireworks from the castle.

The revellers had a variety of music to chose from, from more contemporary, urban rhythms in front of the Križanke Open Air theatre, to Slovenian pop in front of Town Hall and covers of international hits at Congress Square.

Many of the guests came from abroad as local hotels were almost completely booked out. The majority of foreign guests come from neighbouring countries and western Europe, according to Tourism Ljubljana.
