Shiffrin was the favourite of today's race, after already having won the giant slalom on Saturday. She was 1.64 seconds faster than Hansdotter and 1.87s faster than Holdener.

Shiffrin was very happy with her first run today and satisfied with the second despite minor mistakes. She said that she felt confident and skied aggressively.

Maruša Ferk was the best Slovenian, ending the competition in place 20 (+6.17s). Klara Livk was the only other Slovenian in the final run, but she did not finish it. Four other Slovenians were already out of the race after the first run.

The 54th Golden Fox weekend is traditionally hosted by Maribor. But unseasonably high temperatures and the low altitude of the piste, the finish line is at only 330 metres above sea level, made it impossible to hold the race there.

FIS decided in late December that the races be held in Kranjska Gora, an Alpine ski resort in the nothwest. Temperatures have been rather high in that part of the country as well, but the organising crews managed to prepare the piste well.
