Easyjet to fly from Berlin to Ljubljana
The web site Ex-Yu Aviation News reported the Ljubljana-Berlin route would be introduced only for the summer season, which ends on 27 October.
According to the news portal, Easyjet will be the only air line to operate flights on this route.
Easyjet also flies to two London airports, Gatwick and Stansted, from Ljubljana's airport.
The news was welcomed by Fraport Slovenija, the operator of Ljubljana airport.
"Given that Germany is Slovenia's largest economic partner, we are convinced that this and all future flights from our airport to German cities will be successful and contribute significantly to a further rise in the number of Slovenian tourists in Slovenia," managing director Zmago Skobir said.
The British air carrier is launching 23 new routes from Berlin's Tegel airport after the collapse of German carrier Air Berlin.
Easyjet, which carries more than 81 million passengers a year, operates more than 280 planes on more than 890 links in 31 countries.
