Slovenian tourism on show in Milano
According to the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO), 21 tour operators from Slovenia will take part in the fair featuring lectures, seminars and symposiums on the latest trends in the industry.
Cultural tourism, digitalisation and the importance of exclusivity and personalisation will be in the forefront of Bit 2018.
Slovenia will be trying to attract the attention of visitors with Kurenti, Slovenia's most distinct traditional carnival figures, a conference for professionals, and the presentation of the latest trends in Slovenia's tourism.
On Monday evening, Slovenia will also host an event dubbed Fuori Bit: Slovenia.
The STO said the share of tourists coming to Slovenia from the neighbouring country was among the highest overall. The Italian visitors are attracted by the coast, active holidays in the Julian Alps, spas, wellness and gaming, as well as culinary experiences.
According to the Statistics Office, 540,000 Italian tourists visited Slovenia in 2017, generating almost 1.2 million nights.
Last year, more than 45,000 people visited the Bit fair which featured 1,500 exhibitors.
