The firm will use the investment for further expansion on foreign markets and to open new jobs.

Eurosender, which was established in 2014 by Jan Štefe and Tim Potočnik, today has around 20,000 business users and a number of private users in Europe.

In addition to Ljubljana, where it opened its new premises today, the company also has offices in Poland's Gdansk, where a part of its development team is based, and in Berlin, where it employs marketing and PR staff.

Potočnik told the press at the opening ceremony that Post Luxembourg was an exceptional partner with a lot of know-how in logistics, a well developed network of contacts around the world and stable infrastructure.

"With their help it will be easier to realise the goal of becoming the biggest on-line centre for logistics services in Europe," he said, adding that the investor was not looking only for quick profit.

Achim Taylor, the head of the logistics division of the biggest employer in Luxembourg, said that Post Luxembourg had decided to diversify its portfolio and services, and increase its presence on the digital market.

Eurosender has developed a platform through which users can send a package pallet at a favourable price. It allows the company to negotiate better prices from partner companies, such as parcel delivery companies DPD, DHL and GLS.

According to Potočnik, Eurosender is seeing a steep growth. Last year revenues grew by more than 200%, reaching EUR 2.5m. It currently employs 30 people abroad, and intends to employ an additional 40 in Slovenia this year.

This year the company intends to further boost its presence on the key foreign markets, where it generates more than 90% of revenue. The most profitable markets are Croatia, Spain and Portugal.
