In February, 5,143 people registered with the Employment Service, 54.1% fewer than in January. At the yearly level, the figure fell by 13.1%.

Among those who registered anew, 3,005 registered because their fixed-term employment contracts expired. 589 were first-time job seekers and 649 ended without a job as a result of redundancies or bankruptcies.

On the other hand, 7,379 people were crossed out from the unemployment records in February. Among them, 5,640 found a job or became self-employed. This is an 8.7% drop at the monthly level and a decrease of 10.5% compared to last year.

The jobless total dropped in all regional branches of the service both at the annual and the monthly level.

In the first two months of the year, 16,355 people or 13.5% fewer than in the same period last year registered with the Employment Service. 15,732 were erased from the records, of whom 11,820 or 6.3% fewer than last year found a job.
