Koper received the award for the excellent hosting of Azamazing events for the operator's top guests. Janez Maček, the head of tour operator Atlas Express, was also recognised for promoting these events alongside the Koper city.

The Azamazing events are organised to deliver to the cruise guests an authentic tourist experience with special emphasis on getting to know local culture and people.

The Slovenian delegation, including representatives of Koper, the Slovenian Tourist Organisation and port operator Luka Koper, has been a regular exhibitor at the Seatrade Cruise Global, which brings together around 11,000 participants every year, for the past 13 years.

According to the City of Koper, the event is an opportunity to additionally promote Koper and Slovenia as an important global destination for cruises, as well as to make new deals that could significantly impact on local and national tourism in the future.
