The Alp hotel is expected to open its doors again this month or at the beginning of April and Kanin is to open before the summer season as well, Bovec Mayor Valter Mlekuž told the STA.

Mlekuž said construction work at Kanin, which was bought by the Koper-based Alpe Adria Hoteli for EUR 1.3m in 2015, was almost finished. It is to open at the end of April or in early May.

The renovation, after which Kanin will become a four-star hotel, will cost some EUR 6m.

Heta Asset Resolution sold Alp to the Maribor-based company Žnider Saba at the end of last August after renting the hotel since April 2016.

The mayor also announced an extension of a bus line through the Vršič mountain pass from July and August to June and September.

A new bus line will also be introduced to link the region of Primorska with Gorenjska through the Predel pass and Italy's Tarvisio as of 4 June.
