Munich flights from Maribor down to twice a week

Instead of every work day, passengers will be able to fly to Antwerp via Munich from Maribor only on Wednesdays and Fridays as of 16 April, the carrier's spokesman Yves Panneels told the STA.

This timetable will be in force until the end of the summer season.

Although the company would not provide data on passenger numbers, the reason for the cut in flights appears to be poor occupancy rate.

Due to a lack of interest, two flights to Maribor have had to be cancelled altogether.

Maribor Airport recorded some 600 passengers in the two months, which does not count only passengers on the route to Munich.

VLM Airlines, whose parent company SHS Aviation operates Maribor Airport, has introduced an additional flight between Munich and Antwerp as well as a link between Antwerp and Birmingham.

During the summer season the airline also flies its 50-seater Fokker planes daily between Antwerp and London City and between Antwerp and Zurich.
