Ljubljana perceived as EU's third cleanest capital
With 88% of its inhabitants satisfied with cleanliness, Ljubljana placed after Luxembourg (95%) and Vienna (90%) and ahead of Riga (81%) and Helsinki (80%).
However, the top among all the 109 cities came Ventspils in Latvia, where 99% of the respondents were satisfied with how clean their city is.
Ventspils was followed by another Latvian city Valmiera (97%), Oviedo in Spain and the city of Luxembourg (both 95%).
In contrast, only 9% of inhabitants in Rome found their city clean enough.
Fewer than half were happy with cleanliness of their city in Bratislava (28%), Sofia (29%), Bucharest (37%), Madrid (38%), Budapest (39%), Athens (41%), Berlin (45%), Brussels (47%) and Paris (49%).
