The Economy Ministry said the plan entails a series of measures that the country needs to take for a successful implementation of blockchain technology and regulation of initial coin offerings.

The goal is to establish a safe and stable legal environment conducive to the creation, growth and development of blockchain technology-based business incentive, projects and startups.

The aim is to identify the legal framework provided by European and other institutions, define implementation in the national legislation and identify relevant fields that through application of blockchain technologies could contribute to greater competitive edge of the Slovenian economy.

Adopting the plan today, the government was also briefed on the guidelines for initial coin offerings and backed the creation of a European Blockchain Hub as a link between public and private stakeholders in the field in Slovenia and the EU.

The Economy Ministry was tasked to get actively involved in the hub.
