Sajič will continue to manage it as the sole director, the supervisory board decided.

Dragonja was appointed general director in November last year, having previously served as Finance Ministry state secretary.

2TDK was set up by the outgoing government to manage the construction of the second rail track between the Koper port and the inland Divača hub.

Last month it signed a contract on a EUR 109m grant in support of the project with the European Commission, after efforts to block the project with a repeat referendum on the law governing the project had failed.

Preparatory works, for which Slovenia received EUR 44.3m in European funds, are set to begin this month.
