The SIW opened on Thursday evening with a presentation of the tradition and culture of Kranjska Gora, a popular ski resort.

The main event will be held on Friday, with more than 3,500 business meetings scheduled. "Some 230 representatives of Slovenian companies will meet with 200 representatives of foreign tour operators and tourist agencies," STO director Maja Pak has told the STA.

According to her, foreign participants come from 40 countries including Germany, Russia, Austria, France and the US.

"The event is an excellent opportunity to make new deals and establish new ties," said Pak, adding that foreign participants will also be taken on four thematic tours around Slovenia.
