E-applications for residence and work permits launched
The ministry said on Wednesday that the new path to lodge electronic applications for this purpose was part of its solutions for the elimination of administrative barriers in the employment of foreigners.
The move is aimed at "faster and less complicated employment of citizens of third countries who have specific knowledge and who are to get a job at an employer known in advance, for example hi-tech companies".
E-applications can be filed via the portal for the issuing or extension of a single permit for residence and work, and for permits for temporary residence for work in the field of research and higher education.
E-applications can be filed by companies, sole proprietors, research organisations and higher education institutes which do not need an authorisation from a foreigner in line with the law. Foreigners themselves cannot file an e-application.
The applicants are able to monitor the status of the submitted applications on the portal.
