"The US remains a market of opportunities. This also goes for Slovenian companies which can unlock their potential in many branches, regions and states," AmCham Slovenija head Ajša Vodnik said.

But it is vital to have a good insight in to the market and the habits of the consumer, she added.

This is why the 17 companies touring New York will first visit consultancy A.T. Kearney, which AmCham believes can help companies reach leading positions in their respective industries.

Other highlights of the tour include visits to tech giants, including the a trip to the IBM Watson Center and the Microsoft Technology Center.

They will also visit the New York University, where they will be hosted by Slovenian researcher Igor Cesarec.

To round off the trip on a somewhat lighter note, the delegation will visit the biggest food show in North America, the Summer Fancy Food Show on the final day of their campaign.
