ZZZS revenue increased in the first half of the year due to economic growth. The increase is attributed above all to higher proceeds from social security contributions.

Under the changes, the annual cap for 2018 is to go from EUR 2.847bn to EUR 2.882bn. The additional funds will be used to cover services provided in fields where waiting periods are the longest.

The government said in a press release today that the goal was to improve the accessibility of health care services and cut waiting times for patients. The changes still need to be passed by the National Assembly.
