Coalition party heads confirm distribution of ministries
LMŠ, the party of Prime Minister-designate Marjan Šarec, is to lead the Health Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Public Administration Ministry and the Finance Ministry. It will also get a deputy speaker of parliament.
The Modern Centre Party (SMC) is to get the Foreign Ministry, the Environment and Spatial Planning Ministry, the Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Ministry, and the Economic Development and Technology Ministry.
The SocDems, whose head Dejan Židan will serve as speaker, will run the Justice Ministry, the Education Ministry and Culture Ministry, and the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) is to be in charge of the Defence Ministry and the Agriculture Ministry. DeSUS will get a deputy speaker of parliament as well.
Moreover, the Alenka Bratušek Party (SAB) is to contribute the ministers for infrastructure and for Slovenians abroad as well as run the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion.
Meanwhile, the list of likely ministers remains unofficial, although Matjaž Han of the SocDems confirmed today that the director of the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet, Dejan Prešiček, will be nominated for culture minister, and that Jernej Pikalo is to return to the Education Ministry where he served as minister a few years ago.
