Government gives 2TDK green light to build Koper-Divača track
The right of superficies refers to the section between the Divača hub and Dekani, which is in line with the construction permit for the project, the Government Communication Office said after today's correspondence session of the government.
At its session last Thursday, the outgoing government adopted changes to the articles of association of 2TDK, the company managing the construction of the Koper-Divača track, and injected EUR 20m in capital in the company. Another EUR 179m is expected to be injected in 2TDK by the end of the year.
The capital investment of the state in the company is planned to amount to EUR 200m, as the Miro Cerar government provided 2TDK with EUR 1m in capital last year.
The project, which was put to a referendum twice, was also upheld by the candidate for infrastructure minister, Alenka Bratušek, during her hearing at the relevant parliamentary committee today.
As regards the participation of Hungary, whose proposed role as a financier of the project was one of the reasons for the referendum, Bratušek said that during the coalition building talks it had been made clear that the participation of another European country was not relevant for Slovenia's phasing of EU funds for the project.
Under the coalition agreement, the plan is to continue the talks with Hungary but find the solution that is best for Slovenia in the end, she said. "I think our country could build the second track by itself," Bratušek told MPs today.
