Rajca needed 4:18:52 to complete a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride and a 21.1km run.

Kristina Ziemons from Germany won the female competition with a time of 4:51:57.

Second and third place at the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Slovenian Istria went to Jakob Hendl (4:21:10) from Germany, while the Slovenia's Janez Klančnik (4:22:01) also made the podium.

This year's competition, which also took participants to Italy, only featured non-professional competitors. However, the Ironman Slovenia team hope that this will no longer be the case next year.
