The event will start with the 65th Convention of Hospitality and Tourism, featuring competitions displaying the skills and the know-how of the staff. A meeting of local tourist associations from across the country is also on the agenda.

In the evening, awards will be given out by the Tourism Association to the most beautiful town, the best camp site, glamping site and hostel.

On Tuesday, a plenary meeting will explore ways to reach higher prices at hotels, one of the key challenges of the sector in Slovenia.

"We are aware that added value will have to be the main driver of growth," the Slovenian Tourism Board (STO) head has said ahead of the event.

The plenary will also see Economic Development and Technology Minister Zdravko Počivalšek presenting a report on the implementation of Slovenia's tourism strategy for 2017-2021.

In the evening, awards will be given out for extraordinary contribution to Slovenian tourism, for life achievement in hospitality, for creative and innovative achievements, to name a few.

The Tourism Forum, scheduled for Wednesday, will focus in products, creative approaches, strategies and technologies that help to develop added value, like destination management.
