"Every trade union group has the right to separate talks. We will accommodate them, but we do regret that this is happening as it will not help the efficiency and the speed of talks," said Pogačar.

Intensive talks are scheduled to begin on Monday.

Pogačar also said that the government may propose discussing topics common to all unions at the same table. Branimir Štrukelj of the SVIZ union of teachers also echoed this position.

Jakob Počivalšek, who represents 16 trade unions, said that the same conditions will have to be offered to similar profession albeit in different talks.

While the specific demands of unions depend on the workers they represent, all are also fighting for higher pay.
