Adria enters codeshare agreement with Air Canada
The codeshare agreement involves Air Canada flights from Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver with connections to Ljubljana.
According to Adria, the agreement will enable passengers a greater choice of services and conditions for travel on involved flights. Codesahred flights are already available with all providers of Air Canada flights.
The troubled Slovenian carrier has entered several deals with other carriers in recent times. In October, it wet leased its three Airbus aircraft to German carrier Lufthansa for the duration of the winter season.
Adria posted a net loss of EUR 5.4m in 2017 after finishing in the black the year before due to the sale of its brand. Last year's negative result was attributed to rising fuel prices as well as to the termination of cooperation with two European carriers.
The company announced in October it would not manage to get out of the red this year either, mostly due to high fuel prices. According to media reports, the loss will be one of the highest in the company's history.
To prevent Adria from going bankrupt, its German owner, the 4K Invest fund, has injected it with EUR 4m, with another recapitalisation, of EUR 10m, scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.
