This is also reflected in higher revenue of the stud segment, which was up by 14%, and the tourist segment, where revenue was 25% higher, the farm said at Thursday's press conference.

The farm has been focussing on attracting high-end guests, said deputy head Lorela Dobrinja. Between 2015 and 2018, the average sales prices went up by 65% and revenue increased by 47%.

She said next year like 2018 would be marked by major investments.

This year, the stud farm was renovated while next year the Maestoso hotel and the pool complex are to be renovated between January and July, in time for the summer season.

Other ideas for the future include the construction of a multi-storey car park and an expansion of the golf course.

Among the daily visitors of the farm most are Slovenians, followed by French, English, German-speaking and Italian guests, while the hotel guests are mostly foreigners, primarily German-speaking tourists and French. Most hotel guest come from Italy but they are there mainly because of the casino.
