Government budget surplus increases to 0.8% of GDP in Q3

Total revenue was up 6.7% when compared to the third quarter in 2017, mostly on account of higher revenue from taxes and social security contributions.

Expenditure rose by 6% and got close to revenue growth for the first time in the last seven quarters.

Meanwhile, government budget figures for the first eleven months also confirmed Slovenia is on track to post a projected general government surplus of 0.5% of GDP.

Government budget revenue reached to EUR 9.04bn before the final month of the year, a 12.4% increase year-on-year. Expenditure rose by only 1.3% to EUR 8.31bn, meaning a EUR 729.7m surplus. Tax revenue rose by 7% year-on-year.
