Broken Politics is the continuation of the collaboration that began with the artist's previous album Blank Project (2014). For the follow-up, Neneh Cherry and her spouse and collaborator Cameron McVey went to record the album in Woodstock, USA, where Kieran Hebden has been living these past years.

Growing up in a musical environment and under the strong influence of the musical openness and innovative approaches of her father, her career-long success is characterised by creative approaches and the awareness of political realities and social issues.
