Direct subsidies to farmers based on land area or livestock count accounted for the bulk of the outlays (EUR 135m), followed by rural development payments (EUR 65m).

The total figure also includes payments for natural disasters, such as EUR 5.8m for the frost in 2017, and EUR 6.9m for crops destroyed by drought the same year.

Nearly a million euro was spent promoting Slovenian wines abroad, and just over a million euro for the promotion of fruit and milk at schools.
