"This completely paperless haulage is a novelty in Slovenia as well as Europe," the Ministry of Infrastructure said on Tuesday.

The trial paves the way for electronic transport documents known as CRM notes that are seen as having the potential to improve competitiveness, cut costs, speed up administrative procedures and improve oversight.

What is more, electronic documents can be integrated into other services used by haulage companies as well as systems that contact emergency services in the event of accident.
