Candidate lists by all parliamentary parties as well as the non-parliamentary Greens, Good State, Homeland League (DOM) and United Slovenia, and the non-partisan Let's Connect have been confirmed after the commission checked their compliance with electoral law.

There will be 51 women on the ballot and 52 men - the law stipulates a 40% gender quota - and as many as six lists, including five parliamentary parties, have made women their top candidates.

Two of the lists have fielded fewer than the maximum eight candidates: the Homeland League has four and United Slovenia three.

The number of lists is lower than five years ago, when 16 were in the running, but higher than in 2009 (12) and 2004 (13).

The order of the candidate lists on the voting ballot will be determined by a draw on Tuesday.
