While coming from more than 40 countries across the globe, most of the registered athletes are from Slovenia, followed by Italians and Austrians.

The organising team told the press on Thursday that the number of athletes registered at the moment was about 250 higher than it had been at the same time last year, when the race had a cap of 1,400 participants.

Jurica Barać, a member of the organising team, said that this year's race was in high demand probably due to the high level of satisfaction experienced by those who participated last year.

The starting gun will go off at 9am on 22 September in Koper, with the race following the same route as last year.

Also present at the press conference was Tourist Board (STO) director Maja Pak, who expressed satisfaction that the event would improve its environmental footprint with measures to reduce the amount of waste.
