Videtič, Slovenia's former ambassador to Montenegro, is currently the head of the delegation in Guyana. He is expected to take up his new post in autumn.

He is the first Slovenian to head a delegation outside Southeast Europe, or the Western Balkans.

Apart from Videtič, Slovenia has another diplomat holding an ambassadorial post in the EU's External Action Service. Former Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar is currently heading the EU delegation to North Macedonia.
