The 24-year-old made it to the prestigious tournament, which reserved EUR 2.7 million in prize money for the female golfers this year, on account of placing 27th in the European tour rankings.

"Even though I didn't make the cut, this was a unique experience. It was the first time in my career that I played with all of the world's top players and discovered they are not really that special," said Pogačar, adding she would never forget the tournament despite finishing in the bottom half.

The only Slovenian woman golfer who is playing among professionals has been performing this year on the Ladies European Tour as well as the Symetra Tour in the US, which serves as a qualifying tournament for the tour of the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

Pogačar is meanwhile also looking to further improve her position in the Rolex global golfing rankings, which will determine the participants of the Olympic tournament in Tokyo next year. Pogačar is currently ranked 365th in the world, while she is 57th on the list for Tokyo, where 60 golfers will be admitted.
