Maribor and Pohorje increasingly popular tourist destination
The results surpass the growth recorded on national level by 11 percentage points. The number of tourists who visited the city went up somewhat less than in the Maribor and Pohorje destination on the whole, by 7%.
On average, guests stayed just under two and a half days, with most of them coming from Croatia, Germany, Serbia, Austria, Poland and Italy, as well as China and the US. Some 12% of the guests were Slovenians.
Maribor Pohorje Tourism Institute director Doris Urbančič Windisch said that the results reflected the institute's efforts to attract visitors.
