The Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee will join the three-hour hearing, and members of both committees will have the right to vote on Lenarčič.

There is not a single Slovenian MEP on the Development Committee, while Ljudmila Novak (NSi/EPP) is a member of the Environment Committee.

Confirmation hearings for commissioners-designate in Ursula von der Leyen's European Commission will take place between 30 September and 8 October.

The Parliament is expected to vote on the team as a whole on 23 October.
