The centre of the Slovenian part of one of the largest household appliances groups in the world will be one of the most up-to-date development centres in the Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group.

In addition to the development section, the 2,600 sq metre centre will feature a construction department, two laboratories and a test kitchen, BSH Hišni Aparati, one of the largest exporters in Slovenia, said in a press release on Tuesday.

The development centre in Nazarje, located some 10 kilometres east of Celje, will be built in three phases, the last of which is expected to be concluded by December 2020.

Next year, the plant will mark its 50th anniversary and the opening of the new facility is expected to conclude the celebration events.

Working in the new centre will be 140 engineers who develop appliances for food preparation as part of the Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group.

One of the new products by Bosch, whose development included experts from Nazarje and which will be produced by BSH Hiši Aparati, is a smart household appliance called Cookit, which can bake, cook and blend food.

The appliance is a result of a EUR 100 million investment by the group and is expected to bring an additional 50 jobs in Nazarje, and its production and distribution is expected to involve 20 Slovenian suppliers.
