The four-star hotel is situated near Lake Bled and brings a new business model enabling guests five-star experience, according to company Rikli, which bought it in 2017.

"Following nine months of thorough renovation, the hotel has a fresh new look, and a completely new identity and a business model which surpasses classic hotel services," Rikli director Otmar Zorn has told the STA.

While Jelovica Hotel used to cater to hiker groups, Bled Rose Hotel offers its guests 90 designer rooms with 176 beds, four conference rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, a restaurant and a wellness centre with an indoor swimming pool, saunas and massages.

Rikli does not reveal the price of the investment, but says the reactions of guests are "extremely positive", so it expects the hotel "to soon become one of the most desirable venues for high-profile events and relaxed meetings".

The company has more plans for Bled after buying last year Pristava, a large building featuring stables and flats for the servants built in the 1920s-1940s upon commission by Yugoslav King Alexander's wife Marija Karadjordjevic.

Located across the lake from the Bled Rose Hotel, Pristava's building has two interior atria and spreads on an area of over 4,000 square metres, but will also need a thorough overhaul, demanding considerable investments, according to Rikli.
