Online shopping on the rise in Slovenia

The share of those who made at least one purchase online rose from 51% to 56%, while the share of those who did not shop online at all contracted from 23% to 21%.

According to the Statistics Office, 70% of the respondents aged between 16 and 74 searched the internet to find information about goods and services, and 18% used it to sell goods or offer services.

"Companies are adjusting to the changed shopping habits of the citizens," the office said, noting that 21% of the companies with at least 10 employees generated a part of their income through online sales in 2018.

The share of online shoppers increased for all age groups, and was the highest in the 25-34 age group, at 78%.

Most Slovenian go online to buy clothes, sportswear and footwear.
