INTRODUCTION by Mr. Leon Lozar, president of French Slovenian Business Club
Due to its domestic market size Slovenian economy is extremely dependant on export. Internationalisation of business from Slovenia is a strategic imperative for Slovenia's future economic and political relevance hence also for its survival. How to assure Slovenia's future competitiveness for grasping the opportunities emerging due to change of globalisation paradigm, evolving of the global geo-political uncertainty and immense technological advancement. How to plan for profitability in circumstances of bigger competition, slower economic growth, more informed buyers and need for faster innovations, all considering environmental-protection factors?! How to stay or become a relevant partner and player in the region or globally? All these questions sound so blurring and sophisticated that the one could forget that we are all part of this in a real time. It is no more to think globally and act locally, now it is more relevant to see in long distance future but to make the right and timely decisions now.
French Slovenian Business Club's round table aims to serve a sort of bottom-up and "down to earth" perspective in a given moment when the threat of a new relevant crisis is getting real. What resources, ambitions and perspectives are available? Is the challenge to grow from little young lion to adolescent cheetah too big?
