The students can sign up to enter the giveaway contest on the newspaper Večer's web page by 12 January, according to the newspaper.

One of the games will include a face-off with another Slovenian NBA star Luka Dončić and his the Dallas Mavericks club.

Maribor and the foundation work together on the #podamdaigram campaign, which aims to launch the first smart basketball court in eastern Slovenia. The city plans to upgrade the Tabor court next year, with the foundation donating necessary equipment.

Meanwhile, Slovenia's first smart basketball court was already inaugurated by Dragić in Ljubljana's Tivoli Park in August.

In giving away the tickets, Dragić, the captain of the golden EuroBasket 2017 Slovenian basketball team, wants to thank all Maribor fans who supported the winning team two years ago. He also wishes to create spaces for the young to play some ball and to make good on a promise he gave to ski star Ilka Štuhec, said his foundation.

Both games will take place at the end of February during winter school break. Apart from cheering on Dragić and Dončić, the chosen students will also meet the Miami mayor, visit Miami University, go sightseeing and meet Slovenian entrepreneurs living in Florida.

Maribor and the foundation have attracted sponsors who will cover the total cost of the overseas trip for all the students. The city has also called on local businesses interested in cooperation with the US companies to come along and join the delegation of students, city representatives and sponsors.

The project is supported by the US Embassy in Slovenia and the Slovenian-American Business Association.
