Revoz is currently in the process of getting prepared for the new project, including setting up an additional facility for assembling batteries.

The plant has been manufacturing electric cars, the Smart ForFour EQ, for a few years, however the batteries have been supplied by an external vendor. Apart from the Smart, Revoz produces also the Twingo and the fifth generation Renault Clio.

The battery pack of the electric Twingo Z.E. - zero emissions - is expected to enable a range of 180 km, the newspaper Delo has reported.

Following the Renault Zoe, the electric Twingo will be the French producer's second electric model and is expected to be cheaper due to its smaller range.

Meanwhile, Revoz plans to complete a transition to half-night night shifts by April and thus decrease its production from 950 vehicles per day to 800. It also intends to slash the number of workers by some 250, mostly among fixed-term employees.
