Just over 60% of respondents also believe that the government has not conducted the purchases of masks and other equipment appropriately, against nearly 30% who believe the deals had been conducted in a suitable way.

The latter proportion also corresponds to the proportion of those who disagree that Počivalšek should resign as the one objectively responsible for the procurement.

Over 64% of respondents believe PPE purchases have not been conducted transparently, against over 18% who deem them transparent. A further 17% were undecided.

Views on the purchases depend on party affiliation with 75% of voters of the ruling Democratic Party (SDS) endorsing the government over PPE purchases along with a majority of supporters of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi) and Modern Centre Party (SMC).

A majority of respondents who vote for coalition parties find PPE procurement opaque, in particular voters of the Left where the proportion of those who find them faulty is a high 97%.

The poll, released by Delo on Saturday, was conducted by Mediana between 4 and 8 May on a sample of 712 respondents.
