The 31-year-old managed seven World Cup podium finishes in individual events, including two victories, both on the Planica ski flying hill in front of the home crowd.

Tepeš was a regular member of the Slovenian team in team events, recoding 16 World Cup podium finishes with the team. He also won two medals at World Championships with the team.

He told the press that he had initially planned to continue jumping until he was 35, but had found himself struggling in recent seasons. "Also, the rules changed, the guys started getting thinner and somehow things did not move forward for me," said Tepeš, who will now help coach the women's junior team.

Looking back at his career, Tepeš said the good results had been earned with very hard worth. "I personally look at the results and success more from the perspective of the experience I gained during my career. I learned a lot and I'm happy with my path in sport and life so far," Tepeš added.
