The constructions works, which started in February, have slowed down due to coronavirus, but they are still going ahead as planned, said the report, which was presented to the government this week.

After completing the structure and work on the interior in September, all the furnishings will be carried out.

Slovenia will feature in the Sustainability Pavilion. Expo 2020 was supposed to take place between October 2020 and April 2021, but it has been postponed for a year. The World Expo is now scheduled to start on 1 October 2021 and wrap up on 31 March 2022.

Slovenia has set aside EUR 10.4 million for its presentation at the international exposition. However, the government will have to adapt the budget framework to the postponement.

Robert Drobnič, Slovenia's commissioner general for Expo 2020 Dubai, highlighted in the report that the rescheduling would result in extra cost, but it was still to early to estimate additional expenses.

Slovenia aims to keep to the set financial plan. Until the end of June, EUR 1.4 million were allocated for Expo 2020 out of the budget.
