Hudecek, who is also an author, was awarded for his articulate and condensed style and subjectivity in reporting. While unable to take part in the ceremony to accept the award because of a recent fall, Hudecek sent a pre-recorded message in which he said that television was his life. Although Hudecek could not be at the event, there was no shortage of other Slovenian media personalities at the event in Cankarjev dom arts centre. The jury Viktor for special achievements in 2006 went to the sports desks at public broadcaster TV Slovenija and private TV station operator Pro Plus for their cooperation in covering the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Meanwhile, actor and comedian Jonas Znidarsic, who recently returned to the small screens as the host of the Slovenian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?", was awarded with a special achievement Viktor for popularising blog culture in Slovenia. The Sunday talk show on public broadcaster TV Slovenija, "Tistega lepega popoldneva" (That Wonderful Afternoon), captured four statues: a jury Viktor for best TV show and a popular Viktor for best entertainment show, while its host Lado Bizovicar won a jury Viktor for the best host of a entertainment show and a popular Viktor for TV personality. While the winners of jury Viktors are selected by a panel of media experts, the winners of popular Viktors are chosen by viewers and listeners in voting on the internet and by mail. The popularity Viktor for best music act went to rock group Siddharta, while music channel MTV Adria took the Viktor for best local, regional or cable TV. Members of the Viktor Academy selected Jure Godler, a comedian and impersonator appearing on a number of shows on TV Slovenija, as the winner of the jury Viktor for best up-and-coming media personality. Meanwhile, "24 ur" (24 Hours), Pro Plus's flagship news show, won the Viktor for best news show for the third year in a row. The Viktor for best news host went to Slavko Bobovnik of TV Slovenija. Pro Plus added another statue to its name, as "Nasa mala klinika" (Our Little Clinic) triumphed for a second straight year among television comedy series.
