The funds will come from the future financial perspective or the emerging recovery fund, Vizjak told the press on Monday as he visited the town of Sevnica, east, to discuss water management issues with the local mayor.

The minister added that this way, the national Water Fund would be relieved of major investments, while EUR 25 million would be earmarked from the fund every year for investment maintenance of water courses.

The new concept is expected to be confirmed by the end of the year, and started to be implemented in the first half of 2021. Small projects could also be financed as part of the new concept, Vizjak also announced.
