The international Sonica festival provides Ljubljana with a mixture of audio-visual performances, experiments, lectures and presentations, workshops, club nights, interactive and urban public installations. The grand opening will take place in Kino Šiška on 11 October with a breathtaking audio-visual performance "Dust" by outstanding Canadian artist Herman Kolgen, with the accompanying exhibition. The central part of the festival will be held at MoTA (Museum
of Transitory Art) Point (in front of The Gallery "Fotografija") featuring various workshops, lectures and video screenings. The new art centre in the medieval heart of Ljubljana will host works of talented young artists and designers.
